Managing asset data to improve performance
Key to efficient and reliable operations is a fit-for-purpose work management system, that aligns with the best industry practices of asset management.
The bedrock of any work management system is an accurate, standardised register of equipment that can be maintained in an easy-to-follow hierarchical structure. Without effective data management, exposure to risk such as unplanned downtime, equipment failure and safety issues can increase.
Building a consistent equipment hierarchy
Our client had planned to transition to Maximo as their standard work management system for managing all their gas pipe assets and equipment.
They asked us to develop a maintenance hierarchy with a consistent standard in advance of this transition.
Before we do this, we had to overcome the challenge of pulling together large data sets from very different standard P&IDs from across all their compression stations, meter stations and valve sites.
