Concept Select
Study to support a best-in-class mature field redevelopment project
Client
Jersey Oil and Gas
Integrated team’s innovation achieves best in class mature field redevelopment
- An integrated study using global expertise
- A cross-disciplinary team of engineers
- Close collaboration with the client and third parties
- Maximised regional collaboration

A redevelopment solution
Our innovative thinking, multi-discipline engineering team and the application of our wide-ranging expertise were key to this concept study, supporting Jersey Oil and Gas in identifying the most economically viable redevelopment solution for the Buchan Area field development.
The area has potentially recoverable resources of around 190 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Close collaboration ensures optimum concept
The study focused on maximising regional cooperation and achieving best-in-class CO2 performance for this development.
We evaluated various host types, drilling strategies, export routes and commercial strategies to produce a shortlist of options for further appraisal. From this point, the most suitable design will be selected for front end engineering design (FEED).
Integrating our capabilities
Our integrated study team drew expertise from across our in-house engineering, consultancy and well engineering teams.
Close collaboration with all those involved allowed us to quickly screen and assess multiple development options in line with Jersey Oil and Gas’ objectives.
The concept select phase concluded in January 2021
