The application process 

Online Application

  • The first step is to apply for your desired role based on your academic background and the role requirements
  • Complete the online application form by answering the questions
  • Submit all the necessary documentation required to support your application

Online Assessment

  • Should your application meet the requirements for the role, you will receive a link to complete an online questionnaire.
  • This will include questions regarding your field of study, any internships and your career aspirations.
  • The questionnaire should take around 30 mins to complete

How to better prepare for a role at Petrofac

When can I apply for a graduate role at Petrofac?

The applications are open from 7 April 2025 to 12 May 2025. We encourage you not to delay your application.

Is Petrofac a good place to start my career?

When will I start my career at Petrofac?

We anticipate that successful applicants will start their career with Petrofac in the UK in  September or October 2025, depending on the needs of the projects and/or business units they are joining.

Who is eligible to apply?

We are seeking applications from students who are due to graduate in 2025 or who have graduated in 2023 or 2024. Applicants need to meet the eligibility criteria regarding education, right to work, and other factors.

If you are applying for a role in the United Kingdom, you must to have a legal right to work in the country. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work during the application process. 

What are the application criteria?

In order to be eligible, you are required to demonstrate you meet or exceed the required personal qualities and criteria as stated in the job description and application process.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes, you can, however you will have to complete a separate application form for each role you wish to apply for. Please use the same email address when applying for multiple roles. 

Can I save my application and come back to it later?

Yes, you will be able to save your application as you will be required to create a profile on our applicant system.

We do advise not to delay submitting your application as we reserve the right to close the application process early, in which case you will not be able to continue your saved application. 

I graduated before 2023, am I eligible to apply?

We only accepting applications from applications 2023, 2024 and 2025 graduates. If you have work experience, please check out our career site for available roles.

Can I send my CV directly to a Petrofac employee?

No. The application process is managed online, and you are requested to apply online. No other form of application will be considered.

Is there an age limit for applying?

There is no age limit for the application, however, please be mindful that the graduate intake is for those at the early stage in their career and we advise anyone with more than two years of experience to visit our career site for available roles.

When will I hear about my application?

You will be updated about your application at regular intervals. The time frame may differ depending on the stages of your application.

If you are not successful with your application, you will receive an email telling you so. Due to the high volume of applications our team will not be able to provide individual feedback to unsuccessful candidates.   

Is this an office-based role?

Petrofac delivers projects for its clients and site/location experience is essential. Our graduates receive crucial early career development and all-rounded experience within the business. Depending on your role, you can expect to spend a significant amount of your time getting first-hand experience at one of our projects. Willingness to travel and spend time on-site is a must.
