Reflect on Tomorrow Today - Petrofac Expo 2005

Professor Robert Winston, who is famed for his scientific advances in fertility medicine and for looking at the next generation of human evolution will today (1 June 2005) take the stand as key note speaker at Petrofac Facilities Management’s annual Expo at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre.

Addressing an audience of over 400 employees and clients, Professor Winston’s talk “From Caveman to Modern Man” will offer an insight into the evolution and next generation of mankind. It is an address that will complement this year’s Expo theme – “20:20 Vision - Reflect on tomorrow, today.”

Jim Atack, managing director of Petrofac Facilities Management Europe, together with Ayman Asfari, chief executive of Petrofac Group will take this opportunity to review the company’s major successes over the last decade and present future plans and ambitions. They will discuss the opportunities for the industry’s next generation of employees and how the Petrofac business will evolve into its next shape.  Throughout the proceedings the audience will be taken on a journey through time and made to reflect on what has been happening in the industry from its early years to its current day; as well as looking into the future and to the next 30 years and beyond the oil & gas industry has to offer.

The event is recognised by all as an occasion to reaffirm excellence and dedication throughout. Added to the presentations, awards will be presented to long serving members of staff and to an outstanding trainee. Bill McLaren, Dave Bennington and George Keir, will each collect a lifetime achievement award.

Said Jim Atack: “The award ceremony plays an important part in our Expo events and celebrate our staff’s achievements. The long service awards are testament to the dedication and loyalty of our team and we place a high value on our people. The very fabric of our business is woven with the long-standing relationships we have with our employees and the reputation and success we enjoy is a direct result of everyone’s efforts. In one decade Petrofac has established a sizeable portfolio of asset management contracts and changed the face of asset management in the North Sea. Our success is through nurturing our people and we are here today in Aberdeen to celebrate our most important resource.”

This “Reflect on tomorrow, today” event will take place between 10am and 1pm on 1 June 2005, with guest speakers including Alex Salmond MP and Grampian TV presenter, Pauline Allan. The evening function will start at 6.30pm, featuring Professor Robert Winston. The event is not open to the public.
