RAPID project team recognised by PETRONAS after achieving facility mechanical completion

We are pleased to have received a Focused Recognition certificate from PETRONAS at its recent Chief Executive Council event, in recognition of our achievements on the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) development in Johor, Malaysia.

PETRONAS President and Group CEO Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin commended Sunder Kalyanam, Group MD Engineering and Construction and Chairman of Petrofac India, on our progress.

Facility mechanical completion at PIC's Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project was achieved on 29 November 2018. All critical units under our scope have now commenced commissioning activities in advance of the fire up of the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) in January 2019, which will then allow crude oil to enter the refinery

Underpinned by an excellent safety culture, 120 million safe man-hours worked was also commemorated. Petrofac's project scope was recognised, having contributed an impressive 20 million safe man-hours with zero LTIs since the beginning of the project.

As the current critical stages continue to progress we must remain vigilant to complete the project safely, in line with our objectives and to the satisfaction of PETRONAS.”
