Petrofac Training Secures Contract with ECITB

Petrofac Training, the specialist operations and technical training company of the Petrofac Group, has been awarded a two year contract by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).  The £250,000 contract involves Petrofac Training providing assessment and verification services for offshore apprentices.

The ECITB provides training opportunities and grants for both new entrants and experienced personnel within the engineering and construction industries.  New ECITB regulations require apprentices to be assessed continually during their apprenticeship rather than one single assessment at the end of their National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and this sparked the need for a training/assessment partner.

With a highly experienced competence team, Petrofac Training will provide assessment and verification in Instrument, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. Assessors and verifiers will provide on-going support to the apprentices, who are based throughout the UK.  They will assist with the preparation of assessment plans, work closely with apprentices to provide ongoing assessment, and ultimately perform the completion of ECS/NVQ assessment documentation in line with the ECITB Awarding Body qualifications.

“Our team of qualified assessors and verifiers will work closely with apprentices and their employers to ensure that trainees are competent and ready to embark on their offshore career in the oil and gas industry.  During the next 24 months, more than 100 apprentices will be assessed by Petrofac Training.”
