Petrofac takes second place in top 30 downstream EPC contractors

Petrofac has taken second place in ‘Refining and Petrochemicals’ magazine’s top 30 Middle East EPC contractors list for 2017.

The magazine ranked this year’s list primarily on the value and volume of projects companies have won in the Middle East region from the downstream industry between January and August 2017.

It also considered factors such as 2016 revenues, completed projects and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

The magazine referred to three significant contracts Petrofac has won in 2017:

• A 50/50 joint venture with Samsung Engineering worth approximately US$2 billion with Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries LLC in Oman
• A US$600 million lump-sum EPC contract for the Salalah LPG extraction project in Oman
• A US$1.3 billion lump-sum EPC contract for Kuwait Oil Company’s gathering centre project, GC 32
