Petrofac Sponsors Mini & Youth Rugby Teams in Sharjah

Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, announces that it has become a sponsor associated with the Sharjah mini & youth rugby teams. Petrofac’s Sharjah-based Engineering & Construction business has provided new team sports trips for the coming 2007/8 season.

The mini & youth rugby teams train and play home fixtures at Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club. During the last season, the teams have seen their standards of play dramatically improve. As a result they will be participating in an international programme of events during the forthcoming season.

Mark Denham, commissioning manager for Petrofac Engineering & Construction and who is also involved with the rugby teams, says: “The sponsorship is a great opportunity for the youth in Sharjah to develop their skills in a social and competitive environment. The experience they gain, particularly in teamwork skills, will stand them in great stead for when they eventually enter the workplace in future years.”
