Petrofac recognised by PETRONAS for PIC RAPID delivery

Petrofac recently received a Focused Recognition certificate from Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) at the Chief Executive Council event, in recognition of its achievements for the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) development in Johor, Malaysia.

President and Group Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS, Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, commended Petrofac’s positive impact on the project as well as its strong leadership and commitment towards progress.

Construction at PIC’s Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project is going well and on schedule underpinned by an excellent safety culture, which is currently LTI free. Petrofac is also very proud to have been awarded the highest camp compliance rating at the project site, a score of 89%.

The Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) for Refinery Package 4 of the RAPID project was awarded to Petrofac in 2014 by PRPC Refinery and Cracker Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary under PETRONAS Group. The scope of work includes three sulphur recovery units, two amine regeneration units, two sour water stripping units, a liquid sulphur storage unit and a sulphur solidification package unit.
