Petrofac ranked first in top 30 downstream EPC contractors

Petrofac is delighted to have been ranked first in ‘Refining and Petrochemicals Middle East’ magazine’s top 30 EPC contractors list for 2018. This follows our number two ranking last year.

The magazine ranked this year’s list primarily on the value and volume of projects that EPC companies have secured in the Middle East region from the downstream industry between January 2017 and March 2018, as well as ongoing projects won during 2016. It also considered factors such as 2017 revenues, completed projects and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The magazine referred to four significant contracts Petrofac has won since being ranked in 2017:

• An EPC contract valued at 340 million euros for the development of onshore pipelines and a gas receiving terminal in Turkey
• A US$700 million contract by Sakhalin Energy for its onshore processing facility on Sakhalin Island, Russia
• A US$800 million EPCC contract for the Phase 2 central processing facility at the Khazzan project in Oman, following completion of the Phase 1 central processing facility
• A US$580 million binding letter of intent for a major EPC project with a GCC National Oil Company
