Petrofac presented with Award of Excellence at industry event

Petrofac has received an Award of Excellence at this year’s Oil & Gas UK Share Fair exhibition, an event that promotes industry-wide collaboration within supply chain.

Introduced as a pilot initiative by Oil & Gas UK and First Point Assessment Limited (FPAL) in 2009, the tiered award scheme ranks businesses according to their compliance with the Supply Chain Code of Practice, and awards companies across four grades: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Award of Excellence, which is reliant upon companies retaining gold award status for three years or more.

Graham Wallace, Head of Commercial Europe, Petrofac Offshore Projects & Operations, who accepted the award from Oil & Gas UK Chief Executive Deirdre Michie said: “We are committed to playing our part towards securing the future of the UK oil and gas industry, and we recognise supply chain is fundamental to its long-term success. We are actively working with our suppliers to deliver solutions that will drive commercial and performance improvements, eliminate unnecessary costs and add value to our business activities to ensure we can remain competitive.”

We also attended the event as an exhibitor, with a host of VPs, Project Managers and Operations Managers presenting throughout the day, discussing the challenges faced by the industry and the opportunities for collaborating and creating cost-efficient relationships within the supply chain. Our supply chain department also met directly with new suppliers in a series of one-to-one sessions to discuss how we could support their businesses.

In addition, on the morning of the exhibition we announced our new cost-saving initiative with customers Eni Hewett and Faroe Petroleum. This collaboration will see us share logistics, including shared aviation and accommodation, across the Schooner, Hewett and Ketch gas fields in the Southern North Sea.
