Petrofac named in top 30 employers for Omani graduates
Petrofac has been named in the top 30 employers for Omani graduates.
The study, which was conducted by GulfTalent, one of the largest online recruitment portals in the Middle East, found that despite low oil prices and challenges in the industry, oil and gas companies remain the most popular employers in the country for graduates, taking one third of the top 30 rankings. Petrofac was ranked 19th, with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) taking the top spot.
GulfTalent’s study was based on a survey of 370 Omanis who are either recent graduates or final year students at the country’s prestigious Sultan Qaboos University, based in Muscat.
The young Omanis were asked about the different factors which drove them to choose their preferred employer. The top three factors mentioned were:
- The quality of the company’s training and development programme
- The opportunity to do interesting and challenging work
- The salary and benefits offered
For graduates interested in working with international companies, such as Petrofac, good company work culture and a chance to live and work abroad were also major attractions.
