Petrofac makes a splash for training milestone
Petrofac’s Training Services business celebrated the 2,000th launch of its industry-leading freefall lifeboat in Aberdeen this week.
The system, used on many ships and oil and gas platforms worldwide, uses gravity to propel the lifeboat into the sea and clear of any danger. Launched for the first time six years ago at Petrofac’s Marine Training Centre, the Verhoef lifeboat model is the only freefall system approved for oil and gas training in the UK.
George Masson, Survival and Marine Team Leader said: “We are all extremely proud of this milestone and the work the team here at our world-class Marine Training Centre achieve on a daily basis.
“The freefall facility remains an exciting differentiator for us as a training provider, equipping our delegates with the ‘real-life’ experience that is so important within this industry.”
