Petrofac employees recognised for going above and beyond at Offshore Achievement Awards

Petrofac was strongly represented at the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Aberdeen Section, Offshore Achievement Awards (OAA) last night.

Sam Lisney, Mechanical Engineer, won the Above and Beyond award, which recognises contributions that have brought significant improvement to a workplace, industry or community. Sam’s winning nomination acknowledges his work to inspire young people to aim high through the Woking community mentoring programme.

Sam said: “I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised with this award. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given by Petrofac since joining as a graduate in 2003 and thank the SPE for bringing the petroleum engineering community together to help make this basin more competitive.”

Bob Banks, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, was recognised as the highly commended runner-up in the Above and Beyond category. The judges congratulated Bob for his work to develop unique innovations that have successfully influenced safety improvements in the North Sea.

Bob said: "To be nominated for one of these awards is a great incentive, this level of recognition makes you feel both valued and rewarded which is a great motivator."

Our sincere congratulations go to Sam and Bob, whose achievements demonstrate that it’s in our nature to go beyond the call of duty to deliver results for our stakeholders.

The Offshore Achievement Awards, now in its 31st year, celebrate and encourage innovation and collaboration in the North Sea. They are the biggest and longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector.
