Petrofac employee honoured by industry
Vivek Aggarwal, Head of the process discipline department for Petrofac in Delhi, has been certified as a Fellow and Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the UK. Both are highly prestigious awards and, as a result, are rarely awarded to the same person at the same time.
This certification comes after a multi-staged review process during which Vivek had to submit detailed technical reports, published papers and commitment and competence reports and attend interviews with the IChemE panel. The panel reviewed one of his articles published in Hydrocarbon Processing titled ‘Improve Natural Gas Liquids Recovery’, and also found his several revamp studies as Onsite Refinery Consultant for the PETRONAS Refinery particularly impressive. Subsequent reviews by the Registrar Team followed by the Professional Formation Forum culminated in Vivek receiving simultaneous awards of both Chartered and Fellow status. The application process also required experience certifications by past employers and references by existing IChemE members.
Recognised as a Fellow, Vivek is considered to be an engineering professional of distinction who has made a significant contribution to his profession while demonstrating technical excellence and strong leadership qualities. Vivek spoke about his achievement: “I am delighted and thankful for this great honour. These awards are recognised benchmarks that allow both myself and Petrofac to benefit further from the IChemE’s resources. I hope that my experience will benefit applicants of the future.”
