Petrofac collaborates to bring home Offshore Achievement Award

Petrofac was part of a group that took home the Collaboration Award at the 2018 Society of Petroleum Engineers’ (SPE) Offshore Achievement Awards.

Together with Aker Solutions, Bilfinger Salamis, Stork, Wood and Worley Parsons, Petrofac was recognised for an industry initiative launched in cooperation with the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB). The programme, known as Connected Competence, streamlines training, increases the base level of competence and assists with the efficient transfer of employees between companies in the UK oil and gas sector.

Steven O’Brien, Operations Manager EPS West said: “Employees, operators and the wider oil and gas industry will benefit from this programme which standardises how competence is demonstrated in the oil and gas industry.

“Petrofac is proud to be part of the group that was recognised for demonstrating what can be achieved when peers work together towards the common benefit of the industry.”

The awards are an annual event celebrating industry talent, innovation and enthusiasm.

Ian Phillips, chairman of SPE Aberdeen said: “Award entries were received from across the UK, from over 100 companies involved in the offshore oil and gas and renewables sectors.

“As ever, our judges had a considerable challenge when it came to selecting our winners, and I would like to extend my thanks and congratulations to all shortlisted companies and individuals.”

Winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Aberdeen on 22 March.
