Petrofac Brownfield Secures WaGE Project

Petrofac Brownfield is pleased to announce that it will undertake the platform aspects of the Paladin Wood and Gas Export project (WaGE).

The WaGE project will develop the Wood oil field and export associated gas to the CATS system.  Associated gas from the North Sea Montrose platform, which is currently being flared, will in future also be compressed and exported using the new facilities.  Petrofac Brownfield will manage and implement a scope which includes 1,000 tonne compression module, 45,000 man-hours of onshore work and 75,000 man-hours of offshore work.

Bill Bayliss, Director, Petrofac Brownfield said, “We have worked closely with Paladin on developing the WaGE project over the past months from concept development to final project sanction. I am delighted with this additional work we have secured. Our brownfield experience for designs that can be built on mature assets, combined with our technical and commercial strengths, should stand us in good stead in working towards project success for both Paladin and Petrofac.”

“The module will be l&ed during the third quarter of 2006, with the offshore scope due for completion by the end of the same year,” Bayliss continued.

James Paton, Paladin Production and Developments Manager commented, “We are pleased to have Petrofac Brownfield undertake this scope where their skills and resources will play an integral part in delivering this challenging project on a mature platform.”
