Petrofac Becomes First Dedicated Oilfield Services Company to Achieve Prestigious Accreditation

Petrofac has become the first dedicated oilfield service company in the UK to achieve Corporate Accreditation from the Association for Project Management (APM) – a globally recognised professional body, which works to promote and raise standards within the project management profession.

The accreditation was confirmed following the successful assessment of its Projects Academy Development programme – a Centre of Excellence which develops a project professional’s skills to a benchmarked standard - strengthening the Company’s project delivery capabilities.

The programme, aligned with the FIVE Dimensions of Professionalism – APM’s standards and professional framework, supports personnel to achieve APM qualifications that are internationally recognised and mapped against the International Project Management Association (IPMA). Personnel also undergo competence assessments to help establish a development and training plan that will help progress their professional skills and highlight opportunities for promotion.

Already a Corporate Member, Petrofac rejuvenated its project management function with APM’s support to ensure a standardised level of professionalism was applied – leading to an accredited programme that will provide Petrofac’s project professionals with the skills to consistently deliver the highest standard of service to its customers.
