Petrofac Awarded Qatar Petroleum Services Contract

Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, has been awarded a three-year consultancy contract from Qatar Petroleum (QP) to carry out feasibility studies and concept optimisation for a range of QP Technical Directorate’s projects.

The contract was won through a competitive tendering process and Petrofac’s remit is to provide services in relation to oil & gas processing facilities including utilities and associated work for onshore and offshore projects. The multi-million dollar contract will comprise individually awarded work packages.

Commenting on winning the Qatar Petroleum contract, Rajesh Verma, managing director of Petrofac’s Engineering Services business said: “Petrofac has been working with QP for many years and this latest services contract award will allow us to strengthen our Qatar-based organisation. This contract provides a foundation for Petrofac to further enhance its reputation and relationship with QP and its other local affiliates through a newly-formed local engineering office.”

He continued: “I believe this award also highlights Petrofac’s continued competitiveness in the Middle East and is indicative of the regional governments’ commitment to continued investment in their oil & gas infrastructure.”
