Petrofac awarded project in Mozambique
Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider has been awarded a US$4 million lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Sasol Petroleum Temane, a subsidiary of Sasol Petroleum International, for the Pande and Temane gas field developments in Mozambique.
Under the scope of the contract Petrofac will carry out EPC works and commissioning assistance for pigging facilities on the Pande trunkline between the Pande reservoir and the central processing facility at Temane.
Commenting on the award Subramanian Sarma, managing director for Petrofac’s Engineering & Construction business, said: “We appreciate the growing importance of East Africa, in particular the Mozambique gas market and are keen to expand our interests in the region. Consequently, this award is of strategic importance to us in our developing relationship with Sasol, a key contributor in the region. Furthermore, we also have an exclusive relationship for the oil & gas sector in place with Tecnica, a Mozambican engineering services provider which reflects the importance we place on working with local businesses and to implementing a National competency development programme, which we believe will underpin our longer-term aspirations for working in the country.”
