Kuwait project wins ASSE Gold Safety Award

Petrofac’s North Kuwait Power Distribution Project team has won the gold award in the engineering and construction sector at the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Gulf Cooperation Council HSE Excellence Awards.

The award celebrates our commitment to raising the standards of health and safety management on the power distribution project and recognises the efforts of everyone who has contributed to our safety successes in Kuwait.

Aravindakshan Nair, Construction Manager, received the award from Salem Al-Ajmi, Manager - HSE, Petrochemical Industries Company, Kuwait, and Fadhel Al-Ali, Chairman, ASSE, Kuwait chapter.   Rejith Kumar, HSE Manager, Raja Ramalingam, Senior Superintendent, and Deepak Ramachandran, Civil Engineer all joined Aravindakshan to collect the award. 

Petrofac was awarded the lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for their new power distribution network in North Kuwait in 2012 which was substantially completed ahead of schedule earlier this year. With more than 3.5 million man-hours worked, there have been no lost time injuries.
