First gas from Chergui 8, Tunisia

In November 2014, the Tunisia teams successfully completed the tie-in of the Chergui 8 well. This is an important milestone for the project, meaning that another well has successfully been connected to the Central Processing Facility (CPF), which processes production from the Chergui gas field.

The Chergui development is located on Kerkennah Islands in the Gulf of Gabes, 30km east of the city of Sfax, Tunisia. Petrofac holds a 45% interest and operates the field on behalf of ETAP, the national oil company.

Chergui 8 is the fifth well producing gas from the field. The project of drilling the well and connecting it to the CPF took 83,600 man-hours and was executed without an LTI.
