Appointment of Chief Compliance Officer

Petrofac announces it has appointed Tarek Massoud to the newly-created role of Chief Compliance Officer.

Tarek joins this month from Schlumberger where he has been a senior member of the Legal & Compliance team for more than 10 years.  Tarek is an experienced Compliance professional with a broad range of experience in Compliance functions in the Oil & Gas Services sector across multiple markets, including the Middle East, where he has been based for much of his career.

In his new role Tarek will be based in Petrofac’s Middle Eastern operating base in Sharjah and report to the Board’s Compliance and Ethics Committee. Tarek joins Compliance and Legal functions overseen by Group General Counsel Matt Barton, who joined Petrofac in January this year as part of the Company’s continued programme of investment in its corporate governance functions. Ed Sparrow’s role (announced in August 2017) as senior external specialist has ended by mutual agreement, reflecting Mr Barton’s appointment.

Matt said: “I am looking forward to working with Tarek, and our management team, in continuing to shape a Compliance function that best supports our future business needs, and ensures we continue to conduct ourselves to the highest ethical standards in everything we do. I would also like to thank Ed for his valuable work with the business.”
