Recognising employees who live our values; The EVE Awards

The EVE (Excellence, Values and Energy) Awards celebrate the very best of Petrofac. They recognise employees who achieve incredible results by truly living our values.

At our 2017 ceremony, we celebrated the amazing achievements of teams and individuals, including our HSE and Communications teams in our Engineering & Production Services West business for developing a creative health campaign to raise awareness of heart-related health risks amongst employees.

Heart-related illness is currently the biggest cause of emergency medical evacuations from North Sea installations. Recognising the need to raise awareness of these risks and that traditional literature wouldn’t engage audiences, the teams came together to develop an innovative campaign which uses mechanical themes and talks to employees in a language they can relate to.

At the centre of the campaign is a ‘bow-tie’ diagram which helps offshore workers assess their heart health in the same way they would assess a safety risk. Over 200 heart health risk assessments have also been carried out across UK sites and assets, providing employees access to specialist medical checks and advice. As a result, more than 30 employees have been referred to their GP for further checks or treatment. The inspiring campaign has proved so effective it’s been adopted by a number of clients in the North Sea as well as across Petrofac.
