Petrofac named top EPC contractor by Arabian Oil and Gas
Petrofac has been named the top EPC contractor for the second year in a row by Arabian Oil and Gas magazine.
The ranking also marks the fifth time Petrofac has been named number one in the last six years.
Thirty companies operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region were shortlisted based on their pioneering work and involvement in major upstream projects.
Arabian Oil and Gas referred to a number of key projects Petrofac won in 2015, including:
- A US$900 million contract from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide EPC services for its Yibal Khuff project
- An EPC contract from Saudi Aramco for a greenfield development, working on the sulphur recovery plant as part of its Fadhili gas programme
Petrofac was also commended by the magazine for its commitment to various nationalisation schemes:
“Petrofac has trained around 130 young Saudi nationals to become engineers in the oil and gas sector in the kingdom. A dozen Saudi women have also been hired in the company’s Khobar office in information technology, project controls, contracts, administration, organisational development and corporate social responsibility roles.”
