Petrofac Raises Environmental Awareness

Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, is encouraging employees to help the environment as part of its Planet Petrofac campaign. The campaign, which launches in November, is designed to get as many of the company’s 10,000 employees as possible engaged to make a positive difference to the environment across the globe.

A range of environmental events and initiatives will run under four themes; reduce, recycle, educate and replace. In addition to the group-wide global activities, each Petrofac site will hold local events and initiatives; from the collection of unwanted clothing and books for charities, to clean-up events and tree planting.

John Methven, director of group HSSE and integrity assurance for Petrofac, said: “Following the success of previous environmental initiatives, which have taken place at a number of our sites, we have extended the initiative across the whole organisation. We hope to encourage our employees to consider the environment not only in the work place, but also in their personal lives and to understand that small steps really can make a big difference.

“Our environmental month is the launch of our renewed focus on the environment and we intend to keep it front of mind for all of our staff going forward, together with meeting our own targets and objectives in this area.”
