Petrofac Opens Engineering Office in Chennai

Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, is pleased to announce the opening of a second engineering office in India in order to support the growth of its Engineering & Construction division.

Located in Chennai, one of the prime industrial hubs in southern India, Petrofac Engineering Services India Limited commenced official operations on 16th April 2007 and employs close to 100 multi-discipline engineering staff with plans to double this capacity by the end of 2007.

The driving force behind establishing Petrofac’s presence and growth in India is Rajesh Verma, CEO India Operations, who comments: “The fact Petrofac can manage its ambitions and growth is testimony to the commitment and support of its personnel. Having already established a strong presence in India through Petrofac’s Mumbai office, Chennai will serve to further enhance the level of our service offering.”

With the launch of the Chennai office, Petrofac’s Engineering & Construction division now employs in excess of 3,000 personnel and looks forward to further growth as a result of its ongoing business activities during 2007.
