We meet some of the people behind the Hewett decommissioning project in the Southern North Sea.

Just a few miles off the English coast lies the Hewett gas field. Operational since 1969, it once provided 20% of the UK’s total gas supply. But now production has largely ceased, one-by-one the wells are being plugged, and decommissioning is underway.

As Duty Holder and Pipeline Operator, Petrofac’s involvement dates back almost 20 years, and many people on the Hewett team have been involved with the facility for much of their careers – so the decommissioning also brings a sense of poignancy.
