We opened our office in Saudi Arabia in 2009 and a number of large EPC projects have followed. Our operations in the Kingdom include oil and gas, refining and petrochemicals, and industrial projects.
Delivering in-country value
We support the country’s In-Kingdom Total Value Add programme, and remain focused on delivering our projects whilst increasing our local content through our Saudisation programme.
Our Saudi Future Generation Programme has provided engineering, construction, supervisory, and safety skills training to more than 200 Saudi employees.
Early in 2017 we made a substantial investment in the National Construction Training Centre (NCTC) in the Kingdom; a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation to train and qualify local workforce for the continued sustainability of the construction industry.
Petrofac engineers in Saudi Arabia have also mentored 80 Saudi construction trainees at the Jazan refinery project. The engineers volunteered to become mentors as part of our Saudi Arabian Work Experience (SAWE) scheme. The trainees, who attended local high schools, went through more than 160 hours of classroom training and 12 months of on-the-job work.
Petrofac’s medical doctor for employees in Khobar, taught 130 young Saudis how to administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), in accordance with American Heart Association standards.
Our training schemes give us the opportunity to continue to develop local Saudi talent and to create sustainable skills within the community.
We've placed orders with more than 650 Saudi suppliers for goods and services
