In 2003, Petrofac opened its first India office in Mumbai. Since its creation, the Mumbai operational centre has played an essential role in supporting the delivery of successful projects across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
Our Mumbai office started with just 17 people and now has large, experienced teams of multi-discipline engineers. We have 90,000 square feet of office space especially designed for accommodating taskforce teams.
Our Mumbai team’s core strength is the design and engineering of oil and gas upstream facilities. We have a successful track record in:
We’ve provided engineering support to a range of Petrofac’s international EPC projects, including:
Our culture is supportive and fast paced, with a strong focus on delivery. We are all committed to completing our projects safely, on schedule, and with a high standard of quality. Our teams are full of talented people with exceptional capabilities who willingly go the extra mile and enjoy developing innovative ideas to overcome any delivery challenges we might face.
As we support a number of projects across the world, many of our engineers and designers have opportunities to undertake international assignments where they are mobilised to a project site to provide engineering support.

Supporting the local community
We enjoy organising events and celebrations for our employees and their families to come together. Some of these include:
We also support a number of community development initiatives, such as sponsoring the Smile Foundation’s education programme, which is for children from marginalised communities in Mumbai and Chennai.
One long-running programme we are immensely proud of is our ‘Petrofac Scholarship for Studies in Engineering’ which we launched in 2007 together with the Arvind Gandbhir Secondary School at Jogeshwari in northern Mumbai. Our aim is to help high-performing pupils continue their education in a recognised establishment where they will pursue an engineering qualification.
The Mumbai office has built a reputation for excellence in engineering through its involvement in many of Petrofac’s mega projects. The credit for this goes to our committed employees, many of whom have been with us since our doors opened in 2003, and have built their careers and futures with us.
