Track record

Kauther gas field depletion compression project in north Oman

We’ve been helping our clients unlock the value of their resources, both onshore and offshore, for 37 years. Over this period, we’ve successfully delivered or are delivering more than US$50 billion of projects.

In 2017 we:

  • Implemented several new safety initiatives to further strengthen our already strong safety culture and record, including addressing our biggest single area of safety risk: driving
  • Demonstrated our track record for operational delivery with more than 239 million man-hours worked across the portfolio
  • Handed over several projects to our clients – a good example is the Khazzan project for BP in Oman, where we celebrated first gas on Phase 1, extended an exemplary site safety record beyond 43 million man-hours, and secured a US$800 million contract for Phase 2
  • Commissioned the In Salah southern fields development, introduced gas into the Reggane North Development plant, and were ready for the introduction of gas into the Alrar gas plant, all in Algeria
  • Started pre-commissioning activities on the KNPC Clean Fuels Project in Kuwait, and secured a lump-sum EPC project with Kuwait Oil Company, valued at about US$1.3 billion, for the first oil and gas sour gathering centre to be developed in the Burgan oil field
  • Managed and ensured the integrity of a total of 21 operating assets
  • Celebrated 20 years since we first pioneered the outsourced Duty Holder model in the North Sea

The operational performance of 2017, backed up by our delivery-focused culture, our commitment to continuous improvement, and our excellent client relationships, demonstrate that Petrofac is well positioned to succeed as the market continues to show encouraging signs of improvement.
