Our values and culture

Petrofac is a culturally diverse, international company, united by shared values.

Our six values are at the heart of everything we do; they guide our decisions and behaviours.

Petrofac people are:

Safety is our first and our most important value; from our people, clients and the communities we work in, to the integrity of the assets and facilities we build, maintain and run.

We aspire to the highest standards of ethical behaviour. This means doing the right thing for our clients, employees, communities and the environment in which we operate.

It’s in our nature to think differently, use our initiative, and positively challenge convention. From the commercial to the technical, we seek out new ways to add value.

We take time to understand what our clients want and tailor our services to meet those needs. We are quick to respond when challenges arise and do everything in our power to overcome them.

Quality and cost conscious
We work to optimise value for our clients, without compromising quality and integrity.

Driven to deliver
We have a relentless focus on delivery and exceeding our clients’ expectations.

Recognising employees who live our values; The EVE Awards

The EVE (Excellence, Values and Energy) Awards celebrate the very best of Petrofac. They recognise employees who achieve incredible results by truly living our values.

At our 2016 ceremony, we celebrated the amazing achievements of teams and individuals, including our HSSE team on the ZADCO UZ-750 project who won the Safe award. The ZADCO UZ-750 project in Abu Dhabi sees Petrofac staff and contractors exposed to temperatures of more than 40°C in the hot summer months with very high humidity. Working in this environment lowers mental alertness and physical performance, which can cause people to compromise their safety so it was essential that a programme aimed at reducing heat-related illness and injury was implemented.

The HSSE team developed a Heat Stress Training programme in multiple languages and introduced a strict ‘No Water, No Work’ policy, as well as providing air conditioned ‘cool rooms’ and ensuring that the teams drink water at their morning Toolbox Talks. This has resulted in a safer working environment and zero lost man-hours through injury.
