We opened our office in Saudi Arabia in 2009. Our operations in the Kingdom include onshore and offshore oil and gas, refining and petrochemicals, and industrial projects.
Ongoing projects include:
- An engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for Saudi Aramco’s sulphur recovery plant as part of their Fadhili gas programme.
- Two EPC contracts for Saudi Aramco’s Jazan Refinery and Terminal project. The combined value of the EPC contracts is around US$1.4 billion. Our Saudi Arabia office will lead the project management delivery of the work, which covers tank farms in the north and south areas of the development.
- Two EPC contracts for Petro Rabigh’s Phase II petrochemical expansion project, one covering tank farms and the second, common utilities.
Completed projects include:
Our work in the local community
Our Saudi Future Generation Programme provides engineering, construction, supervisory, and safety skills training. For example, one of our recent training courses focused on key aspects of personal safety:
- basic first aid
- site field injuries
- and what to do if someone has a heart attack.
Petrofac’s medical doctor for employees in Khobar, taught 130 young Saudis how to administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), in accordance with the American Heart Association standards.
Petrofac engineers in Saudi Arabia are also mentoring 80 Saudi construction trainees at the Jazan refinery project. The engineers volunteered to become mentors as part of our Saudi Arabian Work Experience (SAWE) scheme. The trainees, who attend local high schools, will go through more than 160 hours of classroom training, and 12 months of on-the-job work.
Our training schemes give us the opportunity to continue to develop local Saudi talent and to create sustainable skills within the community.
Petrofac Saudi Arabia is strategically located in the heart of Al-Khobar and offers its customers a full suite of engineering services across the life cycle of oil and gas assets. We continue to build on our portfolio of projects in the Kingdom and we are delighted to have been selected by Saudi Aramco to be part of the strategically important Fadhili gas programme.
