Structural engineering
Petrofac have the capability and experience to design fixed and floating offshore structures from concept through FEED into detailed design and installation.
Our structural engineering experience covers many regions including the North Sea, Far East, Africa, and CIS.
FEED design models are prepared using specialist engineering software, SACS. Using SACS , we perform a fully integrated analysis of the structures for all conditions including dynamic response, inertial loading and seismic forces.
During detailed engineering we employ 3D software packages to model and manage purchasing of steelwork.
For FPSOs we can develop the conceptual layout of large modules and small pallets; advising on structural framing concepts; support arrangements and assessing the installation methods.
