Abu Dhabi

CSR and the communities in which we operate

  • in 2011, the Group donated more than US$3.7 million to community projects
  • in 2011, our employees in the UAE donated US$88,000 to support humanitarian relief for Somalia
  • in 2011, as part of the Petrofac Walk the World Challenge, almost 3,000 employees formed 605 teams of walkers and collectively clocked up more than 294,000 miles, the equivalent of walking approximately 12 times around the world

Protecting the environment

  • around 95% of our employees operate under an independently verified ISO 14001 international standard
  • our total 2011 carbon emissions were 227,390 tonnes
  • a new recycling programme at our Aberdeen office reduced landfill waste by more than 80% and delivered annual savings of £110,000
  • during our annual Environment Month in November, more than 1,000 of our employees joined with local people to take part in activities around the world such as cleaning beaches

Our overall progress to date has been fantastic, and there is no doubt that the business continues to have great prospects going forward. Personally, I’m excited about our vision and the strategic plans we have in place to continue to evolve and grow Petrofac in the long-term.
