Official Opening of Sharjah Office
2 November, 2008
Under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamad Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, international oil & gas facilities service provider, Petrofac, officially inaugurated its new office building in Sharjah today.
The group’s three divisions and corporate functions, which previously occupied several office locations in the Emirate, are now all co-located within the new Petrofac House. Project management of the build was undertaken by Petrofac’s engineering, procurement and construction personnel with local building contractor, Al Thuriah Building Contracting Ltd, and interior design company, Design Design.
The 18-storey building includes 14 floors of office accommodation, with seating for more than 2,000 staff, four floors of dedicated car parking, a 100-seat auditorium, a cafeteria and paramedic facilities. The building also boasts an integrated building management system and state-of-the-art data centre, fully equipped conferencing facilities and gymnasium.
The new office signifies the continued expansion of Petrofac with the move consolidating all its major services in one location and providing a more connected business offering to customers.
Maroun Semaan, chief executive of Petrofac’s Engineering & Construction division, said: “All this could not have been possible without the support of the Government of Sharjah, under the leadership of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamad Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The building is a showcase for our business here in the Middle East and demonstrates a real milestone in Petrofac’s history. We hope that all our employees are happy with their new working environment; bringing everyone together in one central location creates great opportunities for us to improve our integrated approach.”
