SPD Commences Multi-well, Multi-customer Manangement Programme in UK North Sea

SPD, part of Petrofac Production Solutions announces that it will shortly commence a four firm well programme with a project value in excess of £50 million in the Northern and Central North Sea utilising Diamond Offshore’s semi-submersible, the Ocean Nomad. The Ocean Nomad sequence shall consist of wells for Valiant Petroleum plc, Wintershall (E&P) LTD and Nautical Petroleum. The firm programme may be extended with the addition of up to three option wells.
SPD will execute all parts of the programme under their innovative Well-Management business model, in which contract management services are included alongside engineering and operations management.
Alex Macdonald, managing director, SPD said: “In conjunction with our customers and Diamond Offshore we look forward to a challenging and exciting programme of work that will extend throughout the summer of 2010. We have seen a renewed appetite within the industry for drilling during 2010 and significant interest from a number of Operators in securing wells on the Ocean Nomad programme. Furthermore, we anticipate that the option wells will be firmed up in the near future.”
