Petrofac Continues Support for Cornerstone
23 May, 2007
Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, announces its continued support for leading learning disabilities charity, Cornerstone Community Care, and has h&ed over a cheque for £14,000. Funds have been generated from various staff organised events, from dinner dances to sponsored walks.
Eleanor Milne, finance director for Petrofac, said: “Petrofac is pleased to be able to support Cornerstone in its efforts to provide assistance for people with special needs. We know the money we have donated will be put to good use, and that is very rewarding.”
Cornerstone’s Zoe Barnish added: “Petrofac is a valued supporter of Cornerstone and we are extremely grateful for their continued support. The generosity of Petrofac’s staff through their fundraising efforts will make a huge difference to the adults and children with learning disabilities we care for. We are delighted that Petrofac has chosen to continue its support of Cornerstone and all funds raised through these activities will help to improve the quality of life of our service users.”
Petrofac’s support is more than just financial assistance. For example, Petrofac organised a tea party for the members of Cornerstone at the company’s Aberdeen headquarters in Bridge View. Petrofac staff welcomed members from Cornerstone Community Care and Voluntary Services Aberdeen (VSA) and treated them to an afternoon at the “Petrofac Ritz”.
Ms Milne said: “We have hosted such an event before and it is always a real pleasure to welcome the members from Cornerstone and VSA. The afternoon was enjoyed by all, including staff who helped out.”
