Working to limit our impact on the environment, and to work with stakeholders to protect the natural world.
Petrofac understands the importance of giving proper consideration to protecting the environment and is committed to conducting operations, which minimise environmental impact, with a target of zero environmental incidents.
We have developed plans for a company-wide environment steering group, involving senior business heads and functional environment managers. This group will focus on strategic issues, such as pollution prevention, waste management and resource consumption, and will be supported by an environmental working group.

Environmental standards
Comprehensive environmental impact assessments are carried out prior to all new projects. We follow a systematic approach to environmental management, even in geographies where such high standards are not required by law.
Around 95% of our employees operate under an independently verified ISO 14001 international standard.
Environmental awareness
Each year we run 'Environment Month', our month-long programme of internal and community based events promoting sustainability and care for the natural environment. Colleagues initiate and support local environmental campaigns and adapt their daily habits to reduce environmental impact. Our 2012 Environment Month engaged more than one thousand employees and their families from 25 locations and encouraged them to make a difference to the environment.
