Delegates trained, 2008 - 2011
Managed and operated by Petrofac Training Services (PTS) as part of a joint venture with the Singapore Government, the Chemical Process Technology Centre (CPTC) in Singapore is a unique training facility containing a live hydrocarbon training plant.
The CPTC offers state-of-the-art technical training designed to meet the needs of the energy, chemical and process engineering industries. In addition to a live hydrocarbon processing plant solely for training purposes, the CPTC has leading-edge specialist equipment laboratories, fully equipped classrooms and a 200-seater auditorium.
Our extensive range of competence based operations and maintenance training and assessment covers shift rotation, permit to work with task risk assessments, start-up and shutdown exercises, and emergency response and fire drill exercises.
The CPTC was conceptualised and executed by industry players, in close collaboration with the Singapore government and educational institutions in Singapore. Petrofac Training Services has co-managed the CPTC since 2008.
Safety is of paramount importance to Petrofac. In January 2012, the PTS team celebrated one million hours without any Lost Time Incidents. This is particularly impressive as there are a significant number of newcomers to the centre every day. This shows that as well as our own staff, the delegates attending for training are also operating in a safe manner.
In 2012, an office was established in Singapore to provide overall management of the Petrofac Floating Production (PFP) business. Our Singapore team provides support and supervision of conversion and lay-up activities of the assets in the PFP fleet. Our team is building solid relations with potential customers, with the aim to expand the fleet further.
Our management and operation of the CPTC allows us to help deliver competent, safer and more efficient workforces. As demand for training at the facility continues to grow, we are confident that CPTC will remain a market leader in competence-based technical training.
