Rajesh Verma, managing director, Engineering Services and KRSR Krishna, vice president, Chennai commemorating the fourth year of operations
During May, Petrofac’s Chennai office celebrated its fourth anniversary with its team of almost 1,000 personnel. In time-honoured style and tradition everyone took time away from their busy schedules, bringing their families along, to share the occasion. Presiding over the event was Rajesh Verma, managing director, Engineering Services and the Honourable Mike Nithavrianakis, British Deputy High Commissioner for South India as a special guest.
The Chennai team is supporting four of Sharjah’s EPC projects as well as the Abu Dhabi and Woking operations: current utilisation being in excess of 95%! With this in mind, vice president for Chennai operations, KRSR Krishna is now in the process of expanding the facilities to meet engineering demands for the group’s increasing offshore capability and proposals support. The dedicated offshore engineering team is being expanded to ensure a strengthened capability exists to cover all aspects of offshore works.
Interior design works for the office are already underway and anticipated to be ready very soon.
Petrofac has recently opened a third Engineering & Consulting Services office in Gurgaon, the national capital region of Delhi in order to service its expanding operations.
With around 2,500 m2 of space, the office has the capacity for around 200 employees along with a suite of meeting rooms and library facilities. The Delhi team, led by general manager B P Gupta, is currently around 50-strong but it is anticipated that this figure will double by the end of the year.
Commenting on the expansion into Delhi, Gupta said: “With operations in Mumbai and Chennai, Delhi was a logical next step from both a geographical and access to resources perspective.” The Delhi team will focus predominantly on supporting the business in the areas of design engineering and 3-D modeling.
