Petrofac's Oman office is centrally located in the heart of Muscat close to the main arterial routes and near the Muscat international airport.
Supporting the country's Omanisation objectives by maximising local resources and supply chain wherever practicable, Petrofac has a track record of five EPC projects in country (its first award secured in 1988) and Oman remains of continued strategic interest to the business.
Most recently, in July 2009, Petrofac was awarded the Kauther gas field depletion compression project, an EPC scope of work comprising the addition of two Compression Trains at the Kauther gas plant.
2012 marks the eighth year of my association with the Kauther development. One of the main success factors for the Kauther development has been the knowledge retention and continuity of most of the team from Petroleum Development Oman and Petrofac throughout the life of this development.
