Formed in 2008, Petrofac Emirates is the first United Arab Emirates (UAE) joint venture company to provide a full range of engineering, design, procurement and construction services for major onshore oil and gas, refining and petrochemical projects. Petrofac Emirates is built on the expertise and heritage of  its two partner companies: Petrofac and Mubadala Petroleum Services Company. The joint venture is an integral part of Abu Dhabi’s growing and diversifying energy sector.

Shortly after the establishment of the Company, the Ruwais 4th NGL train project, part of the Abu Dhabi integrated gas development scheme, was awarded to Petrofac Emirates and its joint venture partner, GS E&C. Following the award, the Company underwent rapid growth, moving all its operations to a new location; the Abu Dhabi business hub, where it is now well established as one of Petrofac’s major operational centres.

Emiratisation is a number one priority at Petrofac Emirates. Since its creation, numerous activities have been undertaken to promote the Company as an employer of choice among UAE nationals. Annually, the Company participates in major careers fairs across the UAE. In 2012, for the second consecutive year, the company will be among the sponsors of the Abu Dhabi Industry Award. Also in 2012 the Company has initiated a programme which will offer grant aided scholarships to Emirati engineering students.

During the last two years, Petrofac Emirates has made promising progress in attracting UAE nationals to join its business.  Looking forward, the Company will continue to expand its local talent pool underpinned by a number of ongoing programmes.  However it should be noted that the advocacy afforded to us from our existing Emirati employees is key to our continued success.
