Maroun was appointed President in January 2012 to set up and lead the corporate development and strategy group, which aims to support the business to deliver long-term sustainable growth.

Since January 2009, Maroun held the role of Group Chief Operating Officer, with overall responsibility for Onshore Engineering & Construction, Engineering & Consulting Services, Offshore Projects & Operations and Training Services. He joined the group in 1991 to establish Petrofac International. Previously, he managed oil & gas pipeline, process facilities and civil works construction contracts in Oman and Bahrain, with the Consolidated Contractors International Company. He is a member of the board of trustees of the American University of Sharjah and a founding member of the board of trustees of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development. Maroun is 55
